Scope
1.1
This Standard applies to mobility aids that are intended to be transported, occupied or unoccupied, in special service public transportation vehicles equipped for that purpose. This Standard applies to mobility aids such as manual and powered whee lchairs and scooters.
1.2
This Standard applies to mobility aids being transported in the forward-facing direction only.
1.3
This Standard does not apply to
(a) mobility aids that are designed for use (i) by more that one person at a time; (ii) by children; or (iii) in the driver position of any motor vehicle; or
(b) ambulatory devices such as walkers or rollators.
